Jimmy Saville and the Spanish waitress
No-one gets anywhere near VIPs without security vetting.
I had a friend in London a few years ago, a young Spanish lady, who was a waitress.
She was a waitress with security clearance. When President George W Bush came to visit Prime Minister Gordon Brown, they had dinner with their wives in the evening and my friend was one of the servers who attended to them.
In order to get that job, she had to go through security vetting. It seems to have been a very thorough process. Apparently, the fabled men in black went to visit her parents’ village in Spain and questioned their neighbours about the family history.
I can understand that - it’s an ideal position for an assassin. It would probably be relatively easy to add something to the food on the way from the kitchen to the table.
She evidently passed, because she got the job.
So far so good. So why are you telling me all this?
Jimmy Saville was regularly to be seen hobnobbing with prime ministers and royalty. He was a friend of Margaret Thatcher.
He was apparently a personal friend of Prince Charles, now King Charles. When Charles and Diana were having marriage problems, Saville was apparently invited in to act as a marriage guidance counsellor and go-between. How utterly bizarre and grotesque.
Here comes the punchline:
No one gets anywhere near to Prime Ministers and Royalty without vetting. Do you really think that the Security Services didn’t know who Jimmy Saville was all along?
